Provide a world class immersive science education for your students.

College and university planetariums not only serve astronomy and physics students, they are frequently used by other departments such as biology, art, Earth science, and more. They are even used for public and school group programs, and there are frequently multiple student presenters. With such a wide range of use, equipment that is flexible, full-featured, and easy to use is a must.

University Questions

What is the cost of an annual maintenance contract?

There is no annual maintenance contract required. Standard technical support and software updates for all system software are included free for the life of the system. There are paid support plans available with expanded hours and services.

Are we able to add and visualize our own research?

Yes, you can display your own images/videos, point cloud data sets, 3-D models, and more.

What other departments can use the planetarium beyond Astronomy?

Almost any other department can find an application for the dome. Some obvious departments that would benefit from the use of the dome are: Physics, geology, geography, environmental sciences/ecology, theatre, visual art, cultural studies/anthropology, and computer science.

Can a guest lecturer present programs?

Yes! Easily show slides, media, or just operate the system for the presenter while they talk. Domecasting even allows you to broadcast your own show live to other Digitarium planetariums around the globe, or to subscribe to shows from other sites anywhere to bring outside experts virtually into your own dome.

How easy is it to train my student presenters to give programs?

Our systems are expressly designed to be easy to use, and our Augmented Lessons functionality will get your students presenting right away. Online training is included, as well as detailed user manuals and free tech support via our Community site.

How can we afford a planetarium system?

In addition to a lease to own program Digitalis can provide resources to help you find grants and other funding sources. Take a look at our funding guide and contact us for details.
