Rob Spearman co-founded Digitalis in 2003 as what he thought would be a modest venture—building portable digital planetariums to help students experience the sky in motion. But the company grew far beyond those early expectations. Today, Digitalis serves customers around the world with both portable and permanent dome systems—though many still associate the company only with its portable domes, the fixed dome installations have quietly grown into a significant part of its global reach.

As President, Rob leads the company with a focus on software development and product design. He’s most at home solving complex problems—especially where thoughtful engineering meets creative design.

A self-taught software architect, Rob earned his B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Washington in Economics, along with a Certificate in Economic Theory & Quantitative Methods. He began his career at The Cobalt Group, where he helped launch digital platforms for major automotive brands.

After leaving Cobalt in 2001, Rob partnered with Karrie Berglund to build a new kind of planetarium. They moved the business to Bremerton in 2004 for a better quality of life closer to family.

More recently, Rob has turned some of his attention to a second initiative—Sympa—an emerging venture aimed at supporting others who are navigating complex, poorly understood chronic illnesses and who are often overlooked by conventional medicine.
