Kat Hunt is an Education Specialist at Digitalis, where she supports sales and training for planetariums in the SEPA, SWAP, and GPPA regions. She plays an active role in conference engagement, customer education, and the development of educational tools and programming designed to enhance astronomy instruction.

Kat has worked in the planetarium field since 2015 and brings a strong background in both science communication and curriculum development. She holds a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Science Literacy, and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction in STEAM. Her passion lies in making complex scientific topics accessible and engaging, particularly through the immersive capabilities of the dome environment.

Her favorite subject to teach is Gravitational Wave Astronomy. She enjoys using the planetarium's unique ability to manipulate time and scale to help audiences explore the dramatic effects of gravity across the universe—from black hole collisions to space-time distortions.

Kat currently serves as President of the Southeastern Planetarium Association (2025–2027) and has earned several distinctions, including being named an IMPACT Scientist with Morehead Planetarium, a Research + Practice Fellow, and a Featured Alumni at Coastal Carolina University. She is also a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
