Stellarium: Free Desktop Planetarium Software

For educators or anyone with a computer and an interest in astronomy, we recommend Stellarium planetarium software. This is a great educational tool for exploring the night sky and astronomy in a close to photo-realistic environment. It runs on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, etc. and being open source software, you can't beat the price (free).

We use Stellarium in our projector systems and participate as a primary developer on the project. Digitalis has made substantial investments to enhance Stellarium for everyone's benefit, and we would like to encourage you to take advantage of this resource. We are firm believers in the benefits of open source collaborative projects like Stellarium and would also like to encourage you to pitch in with your own unique skills.
